Karin Dean-Williams
I am an emerging Oakville photographer and artist working in watercolour and mixed media. I am inspired by colour, texture and the unusual, and am always exploring new subjects, mediums and ways to express myself.Florals are a frequent subject matter in my work as it brings me joy seeing the various colours and shapes, light filtering through the petals and often a different perspective on what people take for granted. My recent work includes semi-abstract florals via the use of colour.
I also enjoy painting rusty objects in watercolour – looking at something in a new way that people would ordinarily walk by. I am interested in the story behind the object.
I am exploring mixed media, combining watercolour and acrylic paint, monoprints, household and found items to express my viewpoint with the wish to make people react, laugh and think.
