Christine Montague
Christine Montague (B.F.A., B.Sc.) is an award-winning portrait and realism artist with a passion for polar bears.
For over a decade, Christine has created dramatic polar bear portraits in oil that portray the intelligence and power of the polar bear and raise awareness of its vulnerability to climate change. Christine’s third solo show of polar bear art, Wonder and Warning, was in The Lounge Gallery, Art Gallery of Burlington.
Christine accepts portraiture and custom art commissions. Christine strives to capture the beauty, character and spirit of her subject matter, whether person or pet, as well an accurate likeness in her art.
The pandemic has changed how she creates these portraits. She now specializes in portraits from photographs supplied by the client through email. Her little portrait paintings on 6” x 6” canvases are a beloved specialty, as are her colour portraits from black and white photos.
Christine’s paintings have appeared in over 80 regional art shows. Her portrait of Dr. Oscar Peterson hangs at the Living Arts Centre, Mississauga, ON.
Her artwork is in collections in Canada, the U.S.A, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
Christine lives and creates in Burlington, Ontario. To see or purchase her art, and to learn how to commission a portrait, please visit ChristineMontague.com
