My inspiration lies in the rich biodiversity of Canada, my home. The sights and sounds of the world around me constantly challenge me to paint the ever changing mosaic that is quintessentially Canadian. I find immense pleasure in interpreting our glorious seasons onto my canvas. I am strongly influenced by the great French impressionists as well as our very own Group of Seven.
My style is contemporary Impressionism, my palette is bold colour. I paint what I see, whatever stirs my soul. My subjects include seasonal landscapes and florals as well as figurative work, primarily focusing on capturing the beauty and versatility of women of ethnic diversities. I find their expressive forms of costumes, music and dance inspire me to portray them on my canvas.
After many decades of working in parallel while fully engaged in a career of business and accounting, I’m now joyfully immersed in art, working as a full time artist and art instructor.
