Irena Gratton
Irena Skoczny Gratton
I was born in Montreal and during my youth I was always fascinated by the beauty of our landscape. I studied Business and took courses in design in Montreal .
We moved to the south shore of Montreal to the region of the Monteregie . Here we lived for many years at the foot of Mont St Hilaire where we were surrounded by beautiful landscapes and apple orchards.
I had the opportunity to participate in many workshops with wonderful landscape artists of the region on a part time basis. Once we moved to Ontario I studied cartooning in the evenings and obtained my cartooning certificate. I was interested in adding a bit of fantasy into my work.
Having previously worked in oils, acrylics and water colour I am now experimenting and discovering other mediums such as inks and soon pastels. I enjoy strong vibrant colours as they resonate strong vibrations and emotions.
I am fortunate now since I retired from my full time business career to focus on experimenting, learning and developing new techniques within the world of art.
I can be reached at [email protected]
