When the Art Centre opened I started taking a wide variety of courses. Wood carving was my favourite for about 10 years. I didn't think I could draw or be an artist until I took a beginning to draw course. After that I took pastel and acrylic painting with many teachers over the years. Lately I have taken online courses from McMichael Gallery and the AGB. The bird and animal carving lessons influenced how I paint with fine details.
